This meeting will commemorate the 40^th anniversary of the first model atmosphere and binary star synthesis codes, as well as the 110^th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Antonín Bečvář, founder of the Skalnaté Pleso Observatory and author of several famous atlases and catalogues: Atlas Coeli, Atlas Borealis, Atlas Eclipticalis and Atlas Australis which were used nightly by astronomers around the world for almost half a century.

Martin Benka (1888 - 1971) was a famous Slovak painter and we have obtained permission from the Slovak National Museum to use this image. This painting has special relevance to our conference because of Benka's stature in Slovakia, the connection between the Earth, Sun and the sky (planets and stars), and the application of tools in our work.
