Abstract:
A set of the white-light images was used to perform relative photometry of
the July 11, 1991 eclipse corona. The observed global form of that day corona
was found to be rather unusual for the actual solar cycle phase. In this
relation, the recently calculated coronal magnetic field structures and
strengths are presented and discussed. An idea on the close relation between
the observed global form of the corona and the presence of the individual
coronal structures around the solar limb, on the one hand, and the calculated
magnetic field topology and strength, on the other hand, is supported and found
to be of great interest.
